The Laboratory for Verification and Validation (LVV) recently exhibited at this year’s International Workshop on Structural Health Monitoring (IWSHM) at Stanford University in California, USA.

The biennial workshop aims to assess the current state-of-the-art technologies in the field of structural health monitoring (SHM), and to discuss and identify key and emerging breakthroughs and challenges in research and development that are critical and unique in structural health monitoring. 

The focus of the workshop was to promote applications of SHM technologies and to encourage interaction between industry and academia. IWSHM place significant emphasis on industrial applications including aerospace, ground transportation systems, and civil infrastructures.

The LVV and the wider Dynamics Research Group (DRG) here at The University of Sheffield had a very successful conference and met many new potential collaborators. We look forward to attending the next IWSHM conference.
