LVV and the Acoustics Network successfully exhibit at New Scientist Live
The Laboratory for Verification & Validation (LVV) at The University of Sheffield collaborated with The Acoustics Network in October to exhibit a stand at the New Scientist Live event.
Thousands flocked to London’s ExCeL Centre for four-days jam-packed with science at this year's show. Over 120 talks with full to capacity audiences and 150 exhibitors full of fun activities and experiences created an incredible show.
Everything makes a sound and vibrates, from the smallest molecules to large buildings. In the video above you can see how we demonstrated this by using an ultrasound machine, an acoustic levitator, a plane vibrating due to turbulence, and an earthquake. All this is within the profession of an acoustician.
The EPSRC UK Acoustics Network (UKAN) is open to any researcher, practitioner or end-user in acoustics, giving access to the entire pool of acoustics expertise across the UK.
Whatever your background, the UKAN has plenty to offer you.
